So. I bought the camera. It was fate, I swear, today I had to have it. (I had to have it sometime within two weeks actually, because Future Shop had it on sale for the lowest price I’ve ever seen, even comparing to online.)
I started out my day thinking I would not buy the camera because I realised that after my rent cheque went out I didn’t really have an extra $600+ to be blowing. BUT, fate dealt its hand by way of a nice bonus cheque from work and I thought, fuck it, I’m buying this sucker. I think those words seriously went through my head. I made sure to make my day oh so productive with all the errands I ran (this is my holiday week off work and it’s been mostly filled with packing, moving, unpacking, and errands) and it ended with purchasing my new camera! It’s a dream – you don’t know how long I’ve been lusting after DSLRs.
There’s a bit of a learning curve, though, as all my other digital cameras have all been Canon and because I couldn’t afford a sexy Canon DSLR, I sided with an Olympus, and I’ve been trying to get my fingers to navigate smoothly around all the buttons. Because there’s a lot of buttons. I’ve been taking some test shots but my camera is currently able to hold only 8 pictures because I turned down the over-eager salesguy in Future Shop who offered me new memory cards and other accessories, thinking I could just use my 2 GB card from my old camera. But of course it’s not the right kind, so I dredged up an old 16 MB (YES 16 MB, you heard me) card from my first digital camera ever which happens to be compatible! Thus, next purchase = new giant memory card!!!! As soon as I get that I’ll be posting more of a photo blog – that is the plan :)

Sweet! You’ve got to spoil yourself once in a while. Can’t wait to see some pics.
