Today at work I got a free pedometer. I think the concept of pedometers is pretty cool, because you know, I don’t think people realise how much you walk during the day! So I clipped it onto my pants and took a couple steps – wait, 7 steps? Those 4 steps were 7 steps? Uh oh, and now I’m standing still and I just walked a step? Okay, I didn’t really think that a free pedometer was going to be that accurate. But then I read the directions and it said you needed to place it at knee-level. Now, my question is this: how do you attach a pedometer clip to your knee? Who has a belt loop / pocket / attachable place for a pedometer on their knee??? And I was wearing dress pants at the time, not cargo pants (not that I even own any of those). So I grabbed an elastic band and decided to elastic the pedometer to my knee to see if that would be more accurate. Answer? NO. Advice? Don’t rely on your free pedometer for your workout stats.
